It is now March 26, 1999.
The World is currently busy with the Millennium bug or the Year 2000
problem. All human resources and
energy are concentrated to solving this human error.
What lies ahead of the Year 2000?
After we solve the Y2k problem, what are we going to do? What will interest us and what would make us busy in the next
millennium? What will be exciting
and new to science that will make us have a more universal and united idea about
life?
I have found an idea that popped
into my mind while riding the Path Train from New York City.
It was still clear to me: that Path Train was nearing the Harrison
station. Actually, a few days ago before that, this same idea already
popped into my mind but I was not able to find the answer.
On that day in the Path Train, I was able to connect the thoughts.
Im writing it down here so if
anyone who will read this in the future, that he may do something about this if
Im not able to start the science arising from this.
My mind sometimes gives me weird and unorthodox ideas that are not
realizable in this current world but something that the future world might have.
I can write a science fiction novel about my thoughts but that will only
lead up to nothing. Readers and
others will only think of it as pure fun. So
instead, Ill make this a life-long journey towards the realization of what
hit me in the head during that commute. This
is what is going to make the people crazy around the world and say, why
didnt I think of that? This
is what is going to bring the human kind to the far ends of the universe.
What do we have today? Life today is already enjoyable as it is. Even though at this very moment, were having war in Kosovo, we are still happy with what we have: Michael Jordan, the Year 2000 rush, the Oscars Academy Awards, Shakespeare in Love, Saving Private Ryan, Internet fever, Healthy food crops, nice beaches, family and sweethearts.
Technology speaking, there is the F-117 Stealth Bombers of the U.S. that makes that country seems invincible if it comes to air power. If only it is not afraid of international no-support, it will bomb all other countries away. Just kidding.
A sheep has been cloned several of them by now. And there are plans to clone the mammoths of the ages to make the current elephants as big and as mighty. People are now debating on whether to clone humans or not. There are already steps towards this but are not doing progress beyond certain points due to moral conditions and human conscience. Basically, its all about the stability of the process. No one in this age can predict the results of a cloning process. No one in this age can tell how a clone would be. For a human to be cloned perfectly, the characteristics, personality and behavior of the clone must already be the known even before the cloning process is started. And so, this is an unsettled issue. This is our current state in this science. When is this going to be stable? I do not know.
High-speed communication is now a very desired tool. Information has always been known to be the secret for progress. Without it, there would be no computers and there would be no First World Countries and no Wall Street and no Asian
