Introduction
Two
families come together to form the best team of great human beings
and children of God: Bermundo of Guinobatan and Payoyo of
Ligao. These families are two big
families not in the sense of their number, although, that's still
big, but these families are rich in values, talent, love,
harmony, and unity. The members are humble leaders of the
community. The parents are the best innovators in a
challenging world. The children and the youth are the best
promulgators of change and love and pride.
The Families
Bermundo
The
first family is the Bermundo clan. The
Bermundo family is a very young family - going back by
just about four generations. The origin of the family can
still be traced from one single place in the world: Buang,
Bacacay, Albay, Philippines. The founder of the family,
Lolo Sito, was said to be a big, eagle-nosed,
fair-complexioned sea-farer. Whether he's a native
Filipino or not is not really that clear now.
Bermundo
comes from the Spanish combined words of Ver and Mundo. Ver
means "to see" and "mundo" is of
course, "world". Coining the words together
gives the family name Bermundo a very rich and very strong
meaning: To See The World. This meaning stands true to
how Lolo Sito is known up to this day.
In these
pages, you will come to know and love the tradition, love,
care, leadership, the courage, innovation, and unity of the
Bermundo family.
Know the
Bermundo
family now.
Payoyo
The
second family is the Payoyo clan. Similar to the
Bermundo family, the Payoyo family is also just as young -
also four generations for its accounted history. The
Payoyo family has a missing link. Our great grandparent,
Lolo Fruto, was said to have come Ilocos region in the
Philippines. He is a migrant in the true sense of the
word. One mistake he made - which could actually done
intentionally and with reason - is he left everything about
himself in Ilocos and started a new life in Batang, Ligao,
Albay.
Knowing
him as such, he is a true adventurer and a very brave
man. Those characteristics still describe each and every
member of the Payoyo family.
In these
pages, you will learn about the equally rich tradition, heart,
resourcefulness, and happiness of the Payoyo family.
Meet the
Payoyo family now.
Pol
and Ining
Aside from
the Almighty God, who do I give thanks for being able to
attain this level of simple happiness in life. My Papa
and Mama of course. Pol and Ining are two of my most
cherished human beings. My parents exemplify the true
meaning of simple life, the meaning of true love, and
humility, excellence, health, generosity, religion, respect,
family and moral values, initiativeness and leadership.
There's a lot to learn from my
parents. Their lives are so colorful that there's so
many things to learn and appreciate about them. So many
authors have written about great people. It's my turn
now to pay homage and praise to my great parents. They
are the heroes, the model citizens, and the dedicated and
supportive parents that are so unique and rare in this modern
times.
You will come to know my family and my
origin as you go along in this virtual but also rather real
world...through the eyes, heart, and mind of the children:
Boneil, Boy, Bong and Lynn.
Please come on in to the home of Pol and Ining.
